The SendSafely Dropzone Widget for Salesforce is a Lighting Web Component that enables your agents, clients, and partners to upload files to a SendSafely Dropzone, and automatically add a secure link to those files to a Case Comment, Chatter Feed item, or custom field.
These instructions will guide you through the process of installing, configuring, and testing the SendSafely Dropzone Widget for Salesforce. Although you can install the Dropzone Widget on any Salesforce Object Details page (Lead, Opportunity, etc.), this article will focus on the Case Details page that is included in the Customer Service template for Salesforce Experience Cloud.
Instructions
1. Installation
Install the SendSafely Dropzone Widget managed package. When prompted, select the '”Install for All Users” option.
2. Accessing the Page Builder
If you’re adding the Dropzone Widget to the agent view of the Case page, open that Lightning Page in the Lightning App Builder. If you’re adding the Dropzone Widget to the customer or partner view, open the Digital Experience Builder and navigate to the Case Detail page.
3. Adding the Widget
From Lightning components, click and drag the SendSafely Dropzone Custom Component onto the page. We recommend setting the page’s Layout Property to 2 columns, 2:1 ratio and positioning the widget at the top of the page’s thinner column.
4. Configuring Widget Settings
Now that it’s on the page, click the widget to configure its settings:
- Record ID - leave this as is
- Object Api Name - leave this as is
-
SendSafely Link Target Location - choose between the following:
- Chatter - when a Dropzone submission is made, the secure link to that submission is added to a new Chatter Feed Item
- Case Comment - when a Dropzone submission is made, the secure link to that submission is added to a new Case Comment
- SendSafely Link Field - when a Dropzone submission is made, the secure link to that submission is added to a custom object, SendSafelyLink. Note that this custom object already has a Lookup relationship with the Case object; if you wish to use the Dropzone widget with another object, you must add a Lookup relationship to that object in the Object Manager.
- Dropzone ID - the ID of the Dropzone you’re integrating with Salesforce
- SendSafely Portal Host Name - the host name of your SendSafely portal, e.g., yourcompany.sendsafely.com
5. Testing
Now that you have the Dropzone Widget installed and configured, make a test submission to ensure that it works. Open a Case and submit files to the Dropzone widget. Then verify that a secure link to that submission appears in the SendSafely Link Target Location.
Conclusion
With the SendSafely Dropzone Widget for Salesforce, your agents, clients, and partners can upload files to a SendSafely Dropzone, automatically adding a secure link to those files to a Case Comment, Chatter Feed item, or custom field.
