This article describes the technical limits associated with various SendSafely plans and features.
Per Transfer Limits
The following limits are applied to each file transfer/package. These limits do not apply to Workspaces (Workspace limits are listed separately below).
|Files||File Size||Recipients||Expiration (days) 1||Packages 2|
|Pro Trial||99||2 GB||5||30||25|
1 File expiration can be waived if using your own AWS S3 bucket for file storage.
2 Total number of packages that can be sent by each user in a 30 day period.
3 For downloading files larger that 4 GB we recommend using the Chrome browser for best performance, and enabling SendSafely StreamSaver or SendSafely FileSaver for optimal performance.
Monthly Transfer Limits
The following limits are applied to each account in aggregate per month
|Pro||100 GB||1 TB|
|Pro Trial||2 GB||6 GB|
|Basic||250 MB||750 MB|
|Free||50 MB||150 MB|
4 Bandwidth includes all uploads and downloads
Limits for Workspaces
The following limits are applied to each SendSafely Workspace
|Size per File||2 GB 5|
|Total Storage||Based on enterprise upload and bandwidth limit|
|Files per Folder||500|
|Folders per Workspace||5,000|
|Files per Workspace||10,000|
|File Expiration||N/A - Workspace files do not expire|
|Number of Collaborators||1000|
5 Workspace file size limits can be waived if using your own AWS S3 bucket for file storage.
The following limits apply to our third party app integrations
|Max File Size|
|Zendesk Integration||10 GB 6|
|Freshdesk Integration||10 GB 6|
|Salesforce Integration||10 GB 6|
6 The integration allows files up to 100 GB in size, however they must be downloaded from the SendSafely Portal instead of through the native integration sidebar app.
Contact Group Limits
The following limits are applied to Contact Groups.
|Contact Groups||Recipients per Group|
7 Limits apply to individual Contact Groups configured by each user, as well as Enterprise Contact Groups configured by Enterprise Administrators
8 The Contact Groups feature is only available for Enterprise Plans
Rate limits have been implemented to protect our service from issues that may arise when a single user generates too much traffic. A standard rate limit of 5000 requests over a 5 minute period is applied to all SendSafely user accounts. When the rate limit is exceeded, our servers will return an HTTP status code of "403 Forbidden".
Once the rate limit is triggered, you will continue to receive a "403 Forbidden" response until the number of requests drops below the 5 minute threshold.
