Many of our customers choose to host an explanatory article on their website or Help Center, detailing what SendSafely is and why they are using us. This article exists to cut down on support tickets, provide your end users peace of mind, and inform them, at a high-level, how you use SendSafely to secure their sensitive information. If you would like to host such an article, here is a template to get you started:
What is SendSafely?
SendSafely is [COMPANY’S] trusted provider for end-to-end encrypted file transfer and storage. It is a SaaS platform that can be accessed from any modern browser, and that does not require you to register an account to submit files to or receive them from [Company].
Why do we use SendSafely?
We use SendSafely for their browser-based, user-friendly end-to-end encryption, which leverages industry-standard cryptographic algorithms to ensure that only specified recipients can access files. SendSafely functions as a blind middleman, facilitating the exchange of sensitive data without being able to access those data themselves. SendSafely also provides additional privacy controls in the form of automatic package expiration and deletion, PDF and image save and print restrictions and watermarking, and multiple verification options.
How do we use SendSafely?
There are three principle features of SendSafely that [COMPANY] uses for transferring, receiving, and storing sensitive information:
-
Send Items
[COMPANY] may send you sensitive information via Send Items. This feature enables us to create a package containing end-to-end encrypted files, as well as an optional secure message. We will then provide you with a secure link to this package. In order to access the package’s contents, you’ll navigate to the link, and there verify via a given authentication method, such as a one-time email or SMS code, Login via Google, or [COMPANY] SSO.
Once you’ve accessed the package, we may request that you respond to us with an end-to-end encrypted reply, which you’ll be able to do from the webpage where you picked up the package.
-
Dropzone & Integrations
[COMPANY] may request that you provide us sensitive information via submission to a SendSafely Dropzone. A Dropzone is an end-to-end encrypted, one-way file upload form, and submissions to them are only accessible by specific privileged employees at [COMPANY]. We likely use different Dropzones for different teams or workflows where we need to handle sensitive information, such as legal, billing, onboarding, or support.
SendSafely Dropzones integrate out-of-the-box with ticketing platforms and AI tools such as Zendesk, Salesforce, Freshdesk, Jira, and Intercom. If you’ve opened a ticket or chat with [COMPANY] through such an integration, we may request there that you provide us sensitive information via submission to an integrated Dropzone.
-
Workspaces
[COMPANY] may store sensitive information within a Workspace, SendSafely’s end-to-end encrypted virtual data room. Workspaces support persistent storage of sensitive data, along with granular folder-level access permissions. [COMPANY] may make you a Viewer, Limited Contributor, or Contributor on a Workspace, or on a subset of folders within that Workspace. We’ll then provide you the secure link to the Workspace, which you’ll authenticate to just as you would to a Send Items package. Once you’ve authenticated to Workspace, you’ll then be able to download the files that we need to distribute to you, and/or upload files that we need to collect from you.
Conclusion
