Workspaces can be transferred to new owners by the previous owner or a SendSafely Administrator from the Workspace Collaborators tab. To be granted full access to the Workspace, the secure link, which includes the Workspace decryption key must also be shared with the new owner. The decryption key is found at the bottom of each Workspace tab:
New Workspace owners who do not have the Workspace decryption key are granted limited access to Workspace content, but are unable to view, download or otherwise decrypt the files stored in the Workspace. Workspace owners without a decryption key have access to the following Workspace features:
- View the names of files and folders, but are unable to view or download file content
- Manage collaborators (add, edit, delete)
- View activity logs
- Search the Workspace
Owners without a decryption key will see a yellow banner at the top of the Workspace, as shown below:
To resolve the banner and gain the ability to view and download encrypted content, owners must obtain the secure link to the Workspace, which contains the decryption key. We recommend new owners request the secure link from the previous owner, a SendSafely Administrator, or an existing Workspace collaborator, listed on the Collaborators tab.
