Items that Require Approval

SendSafely Enterprise users may sometimes need another person within their organization to "approve" items that are being sent outside of their organization. This feature is optional and configured by your SendSafely Enterprise Administrator.  Depending on how you are sending items will determine how you can identify who should approve your item.

SendSafely Website - When sending items through the website that require approval, the Send Items screen will notify you if you do not have an approver listed as a recipient and a drop down menu listing authorized approvers for your company will be shown.  Once your item is submitted you must provide the link to an approver so they can view the contents and approve your external recipients.  You will be notified once the approval occurs, at which point you can share the link with the external recipients.  Until the item is approved, external recipients will not be allowed to access the items.

Outlook Plugin - The Outlook Plugin will warn you if sending a message that requires approval.  If no approvers are present on the message, a dialog will be presented that gives you the option to choose one.  Once submitted, the plugin will automatically notify your approvers via email and the original message will be held in your SendSafely outbox until approved.  The plug-in has a background process that checks every 5 minutes to see if previously submitted items are approved and, if so, will release the original message from the SendSafely Outbox.

Chrome Extension - The Chrome Extension currently does not support the ability to show you a list of valid approvers for your organization. If an item requires an approver, you should add someone designated as an approver for your organization to the list of recipients.  Once submitted, you must provide the link to an approver so they can view the contents and approve your external recipients.  You will be notified once the approval occurs, at which point you can share the link with the external recipients.  Until the item is approved, external recipients will not be allowed to access the items.
